Mezovest and NNPC join forces to improve access to affordable gas in Nigeria.

Mezovest, a Nigerian e-commerce company is in the works with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) on something big. What they are aiming at is a partnership that will make cooking gas, either Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) or Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), more affordable and accessible to Nigerians.

It all happened during the Nigeria International Energy Summit in Abuja which ended recently where Tosin Thompson, the CEO of Mezovest and his partner and co-founder Tosin Ashafa met Pius Akinyelure, NNPC’s chairman to discuss their potential partnership.

During the deliberations, Mr. Akinyelure gave a thumb up to Mezovest for being concerned about providing LPG and CNG to the last mile at reasonable prices. He expressed NNPC’s willingness to partner with them in order for Nigerians to easily access clean energy at cheap cost.

Now, the exciting part is this: Thompson sees two key benefits coming out of this collaboration. Firstly, there is expected to be a huge decrease in gas costs for Nigerians. Secondly, and this is massive, he believes it could usher in a new era in the energy market that would significantly reduce energy costs impacting both individuals and businesses.
But that’s not all! He further explained how reduced energy prices would affect other sectors of the economy. In his mind, this will lead to lower food inflation rates as well as increased profit margins for companies thereby translating into more employment opportunities. You can’t beat that!

The co-founder of Mezovest also expressed hope about what he called a possible partnership and contemplated on a revolutionary market that would allow Nigerians to affordably access power.

Mezoenergy Trading Limited (subsidiary of Mezovest), which supplies natural gas across Nigeria through its supply chains was established by Mezovest in 2021 as an energy company dealing with gas.
