US Vows Stronger Ties as Nigeria Turns 64

The United States has extended warm congratulations to Nigeria on the occasion of its 64th Independence anniversary, pledging to deepen bilateral cooperation in key sectors.

This include economic development, energy access, democracy, human rights, and environmental sustainability.

In a statement released by the U.S. Department of State on Tuesday, the U.S. highlighted Nigeria’s pivotal role in Africa, praising the country’s dynamism and resilience.

“On behalf of the United States of America, I extend our congratulations to the people of Nigeria on the 64th anniversary of your independence. Nigeria exemplifies dynamism and resilience in Africa and is a key contributor to regional peace and stability,” the statement read.

The U.S. emphasised the long-standing partnership between both nations, grounded in mutual respect and shared democratic values.

The ties between the two countries are further strengthened by deep connections between their peoples and a commitment to peace, prosperity, and security.

“We are committed to deepening our cooperation in areas such as advancing inclusive economic development, energy access, democracy and human rights, and environmental sustainability,” the U.S. affirmed, expressing optimism for future collaboration to tackle global challenges.

The U.S. extended its best wishes to all Nigerians, hoping for a peaceful and prosperous future as the nation marks this milestone.
