LASG tears down unauthorized buildings in Jakande Estate and Maiyegun.

The Lagos Government says people in small, illegal houses near Jakande Estate and Mayegun area, Ajah Lagos must leave now or their houses will be destroyed soon.

Dr. Olajide Babatunde, Special Adviser to the Governor, said this on Sunday during an area check. Babatunde is sad about the many illegal houses near Jakande Estate and the roads around it. These houses are in the way of the Lagos to Calabar coastal highway plan.

Babatunde said the people in these illegal houses must move out now. They won’t get a warning before the houses are removed. Babatunde said, “We’ve told them to leave many times. Some have started to take down their houses, but those who haven’t should do it now. We will start to remove the houses any time.”

People on the area check were: Permanent Secretary, office of Urban Development, Engr. Sodeinde Nurudeen, General Manager of the state Building Control Agency, Arc Gbolahan Oki and some security staff.
